We encourage everyone to recycle what you can at home or before visiting the Household Waste Site.
There will be a “no-unsorted waste” policy at the Household Waste Sites. This means that if you take “black bags” to the sites, you will be required to empty the bags and recycle everything that can recycled, before disposing of the non-recyclable waste in the non-recyclable waste skip.
This is not an outright ban on non-recyclable waste, and there is no limit to the amount of non-recyclable waste that can be taken to a Household Waste Site, subject to the following conditions:
- The waste originates from a property in Ceredigion (proof of address will be necessary).
- The waste is from a domestic property. This excludes any waste resulting from commercial activity including property such as holiday accommodation.
- The non-recyclable waste container does not contain anything that could have been sorted at home for recycling, or at the Household Waste Site.
You are advised to sort your waste at home. Put anything that can be recycled at the kerbside in the appropriate kerbside container. Anything that can be recycled at the Household Waste Site should also be separated out.
On arrival at the Household Waste Site you will be asked for proof of residency, so please take your driving licence, or utility bill with you.
Recyclables should be placed in the appropriate container, as directed by the site attendant.
If you have “black bag” type waste, you will be directed to a Sorting Area. Here you will asked to sort your waste and put anything that could be recycled into the appropriate container.
Your non-recyclable waste can then be put into the non-recyclable waste container.
Please follow the instructions given to you by the site attendant.
Please note that site rules apply to all the Household Waste Sites in Ceredigion.
Failure to follow the site rules may result in you being refused entry in the future.
