The four Household Waste Sites are listed below:

Aberystwyth
Glanyrafon Industrial Estate, Llanbadarn Fawr, Aberystwyth. SY23 3JQ
(For safety reasons the number of vehicles at the Glanyrafon Household Waste site will be restricted to 5 at any one time. Please wait for direction from Site attendant before entering the site.)

Cardigan

Opening Hours

Ceredigion Household Waste Sites are normally open on:

  • Monday to Friday: 9.00a.m. - 5.00p.m.
  • Saturday, Sunday: 10.00a.m. - 3.00p.m.
  • Bank Holidays: 10.00a.m. - 3.00p.m.

All Household Waste Sites are closed on Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Recycling banks can be found across Ceredigion to accept materials such as glass and textiles for recycling. The recycling banks are usually located in car parks. Site Rules
  • Only waste from your home may be deposited at this site.
  • No Trade Waste.
  • No Builders waste, gas cylinders or tyres allowed.
  • Cars and end of life vehicles are NOT permitted.
  • A limit of 5 rubble bags/ builders sacks (max 20kg each) of soil, rubble or DIY waste per visit shall be accepted so long as it originates from a domestic source.
  • Small quantities of double bagged asbestos (1 or 2 sheets) in heavy duty plastic bags, shall be accepted so long as it originates from a domestic source. Plesae see guidance on safe disposal of Asbestos.
  • Small quantities of plasterboard (1 or 2 sheets) shall be accepted so long as it originates from a domestic source.
  • All waste must be place in the correct containers.
  • Children and pets must remain in vehicles at all times.
  • If you require any assistance, please ask the site staff.
  • No Vans or Lorries greater than 2 tonnes gross vehicle weight (e.g. Nothing Larger than a Ford Escort / Peugeot Partner Van).
  • Please note NO cattle or horse boxes, twin axle trailers, or vehicles larger than stated above will be permitted on the Site. Consent may be granted in special circumstances prior to visit by the Council. Please phone 01545 572572 to obtain consent.
  • Verbal or physical assaults towards staff will not be tolerated.
  • Aggressive, violent and threatening behaviour will not be tolerated, and will be reported to the police.
  • A CCTV system is in operation at all times.

* The Machynlleth Household Waste Site has now closed, Ceredigion residents are advised to use the nearest Household Waste Site at Glanyrafon Industrial Estate.
