The best way to deal with your Garden waste is to compost it at home.

compost

  • Home composting saves on the cost of buying pre-packed compost products
  • Home composting reduces the burden on diminishing peat bogs which are important wildlife sites
  • The composted organic material can be used to provide plant food and improve the quality of the soil

Can't compost at home?

On no account should Garden Waste be placed inside a normal refuse container. Refuse containers found to contain Garden Waste will not be collected.

The Council also provides a weekly collection of food waste. Any food waste which you are unable to compost at home can be placed in your food waste caddy and left for collection on your weekly collection day.
