Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru - y Garreg Las

This year, we are celebrating the 850th anniversary of the first ever Eisteddfod held at Cardigan Castle in 1176.

The National Eisteddfod of Wales will visit the Garreg Las area between 01 and 08 August 2026.

Llantood in north Pembrokeshire will be the home of the festival, but the Garreg Las area covers south Ceredigion, west Carmarthenshire and the whole of Pembrokeshire.

This is a special song by primary school pupils in the Garreg Las area to welcome the National Eisteddfod. Search for Croeso i Fro’r Garreg Las' on all digital streaming platforms, and enjoy listening to the young voices of the area.

Travel

Bws yr Arglwydd Rhys, a shuttle bus service, will travel between Cardigan and the Maes throughout the week between 7am and 12 midnight.

The bus will:

  • depart from Finch Square, Cardigan on the hour, every hour.
  • depart from the Eisteddfod Maes on the half hour, every hour.
  • be completely free of charge, and there will be no need to book in advance.

More information on how to get to the Maes is available on the Eisteddfod's website: Getting to the Maes

Timetable

A full schedule of activities and competitions taking place during the week is available on the National Eisteddfod of Wales website.

A series of events will be held in collaboration between Ceredigion County Council, Pembrokeshire County Council and Carmarthenshire County Council in the 'Pentre'r Garreg Las' area of the Maes.
