What is the Candidate Site Consultation Stage?
As part of the preparation towards preparing the Replacement Local Development Plan (LDP), the Council is inviting developers, service providers, landowners and others with an interest in land to submit sites they wish to be considered for development or other uses through the LDP. The sites identified are referred to as Candidate Sites.
Candidate Sites may be submitted for potential uses such as: housing, employment, retail, leisure, waste, transport (e.g. park and ride sites), open space, health and community uses. Even sites that are included in the Local development Plan (LDP) should be submitted as part of this process as they cannot be automatically carried forward to the new LDP.
What do you have to do?
Submitting land for consideration as part of the LDP is easy and straightforward.
A form has been developed for you to fill in which will provide you an opportunity to demonstrate why the proposed site should be considered for inclusion. An advice note accompanies the form, offering guidance on how to fill the form in and what will happen to it once it has been submitted
