Energy Efficiency

For impartial and independent advice to help you reduce your energy bills, make your home warmer, plan home improvements and make your home greener you can visit the UK Government Improve Energy Efficiency webpage.

Energy Saving Trust is an independent organisation working to address the climate emergency. For information on how to make your home more energy efficient and reduce your carbon emissions please visit the Energy Saving Trust webpage.

Warm Wales are a Community Interest Company that can offer energy advice and help you apply for grants. Please visit the Warm Wales website for further information.

National Energy Action (NEA) is the national fuel poverty charity, working to ensure that everyone in England, Wales and Northern Ireland is warm and safe at home. NEA has useful resources to help those struggling with the cost of energy, as well as an advice line to provide over-the-phone and chat help. Citizens Advice can provide support to householders by helping to access funding, alongside practical help with energy use and achieving a warmer home. Ceredigion Citizens Advice can support householders to understand the best ways to heat their home, how to reduce their bills and how to deal with problems like debt and low income. Priority Services Register

The Priority Services Register is a free support service that Energy Suppliers and network operators offer to help people in vulnerable situations. Each keeps their own register. To sign up for the Priority Services Register you will need to contact your utility suppliers directly. Their contact details can be found either on their websites or on the bills that you are sent. Further information on the Priority Services Register and the support that you may be able to receive can found on Ofgem’s webpage.

Staying Warm

Ceredigion County Council and CAVO have been working together to create a network of Warm Welcome Spaces across the County. These community spaces will be kept warm across Winter. The network includes:

  • Spaces to work
  • Activities for families and children
  • Craft clubs
  • Pay as you feel cafes
  • Dementia friendly spaces

Warm Welcome Spaces must consider Covid-19 in their risk assessments.
