Food Hygiene Ratings

Food Premises in Ceredigion will be transferred to the Statutory Food Hygiene Rating Scheme between 28th November 2013 and 28th May 2015.

The Food Hygiene Rating (Wales) Act 2013 came into force in Wales on 28th November 2013. All food hygiene inspections undertaken after this date will result in a Statutory rating being issued, subject to the premises being included within the scope of the scheme.

The display of stickers and certificates issued under the voluntary scheme will remain voluntary. The law will not make businesses display any ratings issued before the 28th November 2013.

In addition, businesses who have ratings under the voluntary scheme will still be able to request a revisit for re-score without paying the fee.

There will be an 18 month transition period between 28th November 2013 and 28th May 2015, after which period all businesses who had a rating under the voluntary scheme will receive a rating under the statutory scheme.
