Ceredigion County Council is committed to reducing the number and severity of road traffic collisions and casualties on the county road network (the A487 and A44 Trunk Roads are the responsibility of the Welsh Government, and not this Authority).

We can do this by encouraging the safe, legal, considerate, and efficient use of the public highway. In some cases traffic management interventions may be appropriate for addressing an actual problem – such as changing a speed limit; providing directional, warning and information signs, or other measures. Information on some examples of these measures is detailed in the links below. Please bear in mind that for any improvements to be justified, there must be clear evidence that a problem exists, and that the introduction of any new measures has to be prioritised in relation to other ongoing schemes and available resources.
