Love Food Hate Waste
Love Food Hate Waste is a UK-wide campaign from WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) which shows that by doing easy practical everyday things in the home we can all waste less food, which ultimately benefits our pockets and the environment too. If we all stopped wasting food, it would have the same environmental impact as taking 1 in 4 cars off UK roads. Love Food Hate Waste has lots of delicious recipes to use up leftovers, handy hints and tips for storing food to make it last longer, a portion calculator to help you cook the right amount, and information on what food date labels mean. There is something for everyone, whether you are a keen cook, or simply want to reduce the amount of food which you throw away.

Recycle Now
Recycle Now is a website aimed at providing tips and advice on recycling. It gives advice on how to recycle at home, in the garden (including a very informative section on composting), in the office and at school.
Mailing Preference Service
The Mailing Preference Service (MPS) is a free service funded by the direct mail industry. This service enables UK householders to have their names and home addresses removed from lists used by the industry. It is actively supported by the Royal Mail, all directly involved trade associations, and is fully supported by the Information Commissioners Office. Registration with the Mailing Preference Service could reduce personally addressed unsolicited mail by up to 95%.
Re-Use
There are many different ways to re-use old or unwanted items. Many items can be re-used at home. Recycling-Guide.org.uk has many suggestions for how to re-use everyday items.
Items such as clothing, books, videos and DVDs can often be donated to charity. Consult your telephone directory for information on charities in Ceredigion.
Finally, there are a number of re-use organisations in Ceredigion. Shops such as CRAFT in Aberystwyth, Animals In Need in Lampeter and the New Life Community Project shop in Cardigan accept unwanted goods and re-sell them. Other organisations, such as Freecycle allow people to sign up and provide a free 'swap-shop' for re-useable items. Notice boards in supermarkets and workplaces are also a good place to advertise goods for re-use or resale.
