Active Travel Network Map 2026
This consultation will close on 22 March 2026.
Ceredigion County Council is undertaking an initial consultation to gather feedback on Active Travel requirements in the County.
Under statutory duties of the Active Travel (Wales Act) 2013, all Local Authorities in Wales are required to submit their Active Travel Network Maps (ATNM’s) to the Welsh Government in December 2026.
These maps support the planning, delivery and funding of Active Travel schemes, helping to create a more integrated, accessible, and sustainable network for walking, wheeling and cycling journeys.
Our current map was approved by the Welsh Government in 2022 and now it is time to reflect the changes and improvements made over the past three years.
The consultation focuses on the main towns of Aberystwyth, Cardigan and Lampeter, which have been selected by the Welsh Government as the designated Active Travel localities in the County.
Viewing the Active Travel Network Map
The current map from 2022 is available on the Data Map Wales platform (which is hosted by the Welsh Government).
The map displays:
- Existing Routes – these are the routes that currently meet Welsh Government standards for Active Travel (walking, wheeling and cycling).
- Future Routes – these routes were identified during previous consultations or required enhancements to improve the overall connectivity of the network.
You can view the full county map on DataMapWales (hosted by Welsh Government).
