Every day, Ceredigion County Council employees (Team Ceredigion) work across our communities, providing services and support that help make a difference to the lives of local people. Now, they are taking that commitment a step further by launching a new annual charity fundraising event, bringing colleagues, family and friends together to take on a challenge, raise vital funds and support causes that make a real difference to people’s lives.

Taking on a 20-mile challenge

This year, colleagues across the Council’s service areas, will take on a 20-mile charity walk on Saturday, 26 September, travelling from Canolfan Rheidol in Aberystwyth, the Council’s operational headquarters, to Penmorfa in Aberaeron, its democratic headquarters.

The route will take walkers through some of Ceredigion’s beautiful coastal communities, passing through Rhydyfelin, Llanddeiniol and Llanrhystud, before joining the coastal path for the final stretch towards Aberaeron.

Supporting two important causes

Taking place during Lymphoma Awareness Month, the event will raise funds and awareness for two charities supporting people affected by cancer: Lymphoma Action and Young Lives vs Cancer.

Lymphoma is the UK’s most common blood cancer, yet awareness of the condition remains relatively low. Events like this provide an opportunity to shine a light on lymphoma while raising vital funds for organisations supporting people living with cancer and their families.

Lymphoma Action provides trusted information, support and advice to people living with lymphoma, while Young Lives vs Cancer supports children, young people and their families through the challenges that cancer can bring.
