Caru’ch Cymuned new category for Caru Ceredigion Awards 2025
Applications are now open in a new category in the 2025 Caru Ceredigion Awards. The Caru’ch Cymuned award will recognise and celebrate the work of town and village communities across Ceredigion in keeping their community tidy, arranging events and providing services to the people of the area.
Communities large and small are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest Form before midnight on Monday 7th of July, 2025.
The Caru’ch Cymuned campaign is aimed at fostering and celebrating a sense of pride in communities across the county, while encouraging people to take part in activities and initiatives that enhance the environment, support local businesses, and strengthen community cohesion and resilience.
There are three sub-categories to the Caru’ch Cymuned competition - a category for ‘Small villages’ which have fewer than 5 amenities, ‘Village’ for larger communities with five or more amenities, and a category for the towns of Aberaeron, Cardigan, Aberystwyth, New Quay, Lampeter, Llandysul and Tregaron. Applications must be submitted by a recognised body which is representative of the community.
Councillor Clive Davies, Ceredigion’s Cabinet member responsible for the Economy and Regeneration, said: “This new category, Caru’ch Cymuned, is an opportunity for us to celebrate many of our communities across the county from community projects, the care and condition of public areas, events and initiatives, effective communication and community activities. We look forward to building on last year’s success and celebrate our communities and individuals again this year at the Caru Ceredigion Awards 2025.”
The first step in entering the competition is to complete and submit an Expressions of Interest. The closing date for submitting the Expression of Interest form is midnight Monday June 7th, 2025.
Application forms and Guidance Notes are available on the Caru'ch Cymuned page. In the meantime if you have a query don’t hesitate to contact one of the team by e-mailing ce.cynnalycardi@ceredigion.gov.uk.
