What is the Additional Candidate Site Consultation Stage?
In parallel with the consultation on the Preferred Strategy for LDP2, the Council is issuing a second invitation for landowners to submit details of sites 'Candidate Sites' for consideration as allocated development land in the next plan period. In particular, the Council would welcome sites related to the proposed Service Centres listed in the Preferred Strategy.
Candidate Sites may be submitted for potential uses such as: housing, employment, retail, leisure, waste, transport (e.g. park and ride sites), open space, health and community uses. Even sites that are included in the Local development Plan (LDP) should be submitted as part of this process as they cannot be automatically carried forward to the new LDP.
What do you have to do?
Submitting land for consideration as part of the LDP is easy and straightforward.
A form has been developed for you to fill in which will provide you an opportunity to demonstrate why the proposed site should be considered for inclusion. An advice note accompanies the form, offering guidance on how to fill the form in and what will happen to it once it has been submitted
