Further update
Following the Cabinet decision outlined below, a report was presented to Learning Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
The report and correspondence are available on our webpage - Minutes of the special Learning Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting held on 29 April 2025.
Decision:
Following questions from the floor, it was agreed to note the report and appendices for information following the decision by Cabinet on 3 December to amend the statutory consultations to be informal; this would now draw to a close the status of the informal consultations in relation to Ysgol Craig yr Wylfa, Ysgol Llanfihangel y Creuddyn, Ysgol Llangwyryfon and Ysgol Syr John Rhys.
Update
This matter was considered by Councillors in the meeting of Cabinet on 03/12/2024.
Report to Cabinet on the Reorganisation of Schools 03.12.2024
Decision:
- To note that the Cabinet decision 3/9/24 is not capable of implementation.
- To approve that Cabinet 3/9/24 decisions C50, C51, C52 & C53 are amended as follows:
“the statutory consultation process to cease to maintain the provision at Ysgol Craig yr Wylfa, Ysgol Llanfihangel y Creuddyn, Ysgol Llangwyryfon and Ysgol Syr John Rhys with effect from 31 August 2025”, shall instead be treated as an informal consultation on the reorganisation and future of the schools”.
Reason for the decision:
