Ceredigion Actif

There are 6 Leisure Centres in Ceredigion which offer a variety of activities and facilities for people of all ages.

The creation of Wellbeing Centres is a key component of Ceredigion County Council’s Corporate Strategy 2022-2027 and its Through-age and Wellbeing Strategy.

The local authority has ambitions to create Wellbeing Centres in the North, Mid and South of the county.

Wellbeing Centre, Lampeter is the first, servicing the Mid of the county and opened in June 2023.

The second Wellbeing Centre will be based in Cardigan to service the south of the county and worked has begun on a feasibility study which will inform the business case.

The feasibility study is funded in partnership with Welsh Government via the Health and Social Care Integration and Rebalancing Capital Fund Programme and as part of the wider West Wales Regional Partnership Board Capital Programme.

A Wellbeing Centre provides a wide range of services that consider and improve the physical, mental and social aspects of an individual’s wellbeing.

The Wellbeing Centre will also provide increased access to Information, advice and assistance for residents on all council services.

Building on a core physical activity offer, other Through-age services that will be provided include skills and employment advice, hardship and housing support, services for young people, support for carers, Community Connectors and early support for Mental Health.

Our aim, by providing these services to residents in their communities, is to ensure that they’re provided with support at the earliest opportunity, which will prevent cases from escalating through to statutory services.
