It’s a very exciting time at Theatr Felinfach as the enthusiastic members of the Performing School prepare to present their first musical drama, ‘Syrffio ar y Sgwâr!’ (Surfing on the Square). The performance will take place at 7pm on Saturday, 14 July.

The original show, written by Gareth Ioan, Peter Ebbsworth and Anwen James with the music composed by Hector MacDonald of Patagonia, was written for the National Urdd Eisteddfod, Lampeter in 1999.

In the show you’ll meet Zara Zappa, owner of a computer games shop and Llew Llyfrau, the owner of the book shop, ‘Llyfre Lledrithiol’ as well as Strab and Haden! There’s a constant battle between technology and books. Which activity will outweigh the other? Come and see the show and all your questions will be answered.

The Performing School was established by Ffion Medi Lewis-Hughes and Lowri Angharad Briddon in January 2017 and it has grown to be a popular company. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy and experiment with new theatre skills through the medium of Welsh and also to meet new friends with the same passion for performing.
