Cered: Menter Iaith Ceredigion hosted a special evening with the Llandysul Cubs. Ynni Da visited the Cubs to do a pedal power session through the Welsh language.
The session was provided by Ynni Da, an organisation that provides energy workshops and opportunities to improve numeracy and data skills of young people. The Cubs created electricity by pedalling bikes which generated energy to power the pop and rock music for the session. The Cubs enjoyed singing, especially during songs like ‘Loris Mansel Davies’ by the The Welsh Whisperer and ‘Rhedeg i Baris’ by Candelas.
Activities like this give young people the opportunity to socialise and enjoy activities through the medium of Welsh. The sessions educate people about how energy can be generated, gives the opportunity to experiment with renewable energy resources, and helps people keep fit.
Rhodri Francis, Cered Development Officer said “This is the second time we have held a workshop with Llandysul Cubs. After organizing a successful evening with comedian Noel James from Britain's Got Talent, the response was so great, a Welsh pedal power session with Ynni Da was organised. I would like to thank the Llandysul Cubs leaders for working with Ynni Da so that their members have the opportunity to socialise and enjoy activities through the medium of Welsh.”
Alix Bryant, Leader of Cubs Llandysul said, “The Cubs had an amazing time at the pedal power session. The Welsh music was great and the bikes certainly used up their energy!”
