A consultation is open to get the opinions of Ceredigion residents on proposed changes to some polling station locations in the county.

Changes are proposed for polling station locations in Cwm Ystwyth, Aberystwyth, Cross Inn and Talsarn.

The council has a duty to review the suitability of polling stations in the county. A review has been carried out of the current locations and some changes to locations have been suggested. The review took into account a number of complaints that were made during the European Parliamentary Election in May 2019.

Following a Cabinet decision on 15 October 2019, Ceredigion residents can give their opinion on the reviewed locations polling stations.

Eifion Evans is Ceredigion County Council’s Chief Executive and the county’s Returning Officer. He said: “This review is an important exercise that will help inform us of the public’s preferences for future polling stations locations around the County. We want the voting experience to be as convenient and accessible as possible for every voter.”

The consultation was opened on 16 October and will close on 4 December. Residents can read the consultation document and respond to it by using this link: www.ceredigion.gov.uk/pollingstationreview
