Families in Ceredigion to benefit from an expanded Welsh Government Childcare Offer from November
Families across Ceredigion will benefit from an expanded Welsh Government childcare offer from November 2026, with funded childcare becoming available to eligible two-year-olds in all areas of the county.
The expansion forms part of the Welsh Government's commitment to extending high-quality, funded early years childcare to families across Wales and will ensure that more children in Ceredigion can access valuable early learning opportunities closer to home.
The offer will provide eligible children with 12.5 hours of funded childcare each week, supporting their learning, development and wellbeing during the crucial early years of life.
The expanded provision will be delivered through Ceredigion's network of registered childcare providers, enabling families to access quality childcare services.
Councillor Alun Williams, Ceredigion's Cabinet Member for Through Age Wellbeing, Support and Care, said: "We are delighted that from November 2026 families across the whole of Ceredigion will be able to benefit from the expanded Welsh Government childcare offer.
"This investment in our youngest children will help ensure they have the best possible start in life, while also providing valuable support to parents and carers. By extending the offer county-wide, we are creating greater opportunities for families and helping more children access high-quality early years experiences that support their development and future wellbeing."
The expansion reflects the Council's commitment to supporting children and families through early intervention and prevention, ensuring that all children have the opportunity to thrive, regardless of where they live.
