Share your views on Ceredigion's Engagement and Participation Policy

Ceredigion County Council is revising its current Engagement and Participation Policy and wants your views about what should be included in the updated policy.

Everyone who lives or works in Ceredigion will make use of some council services, including its staff. These services could be using the roads, schools, libraries or bin collections. It is important that the Council asks for your views when it makes changes to the way it does things.

The current policy outlines how Ceredigion engages with communities. As it looks to refresh this policy, the council wants to ensure it reflects the needs and expectations of the people receiving services. You can view the current policy here: www.ceredigion.gov.uk/media/ch4aaroc/engagementandparticipationpolicyceredigioncountycouncilmay2022.pdf

Councillor Matthew Vaux, Ceredigion's Cabinet Member responsible for Public Protection said: "Whether you’ve attended a community meeting, responded to a survey, or simply followed us on social media - or even if you haven’t engaged with us at all - your feedback is valuable. This is your opportunity to help shape how your local authority, engages, listens, and responds to the people of Ceredigion."

The engagement will run for an 8-week period until Sunday 31 August, 2025. You can share your views online: www.ceredigion.gov.uk/your-council/consultations/2025-engagement-and-participation/ or by visiting your local library or leisure centre and asking for the information.

You can also attend an online or face-to-face focus group in Aberaeron on 15 July, Aberystwyth on 17 July or Cardigan on 24 July. To register your attendance, visit Focus Group Registration: Ceredigion Council Engagement and Participation Policy 2025.

For more information about the focus groups, contact Carys Huntly on 01545 570881 or visit the Council's website.

Your responses will help the Council write the draft policy and it will be coming back out to ask your views on this draft later this year.
