Residents’ views are sought on the proposed changes to polling stations locations in the county.
Ceredigion County Council as an authority is required to review the suitability of its polling districts and polling places at least once every five years.
Changes are being proposed for several polling station locations as part of the review.
The proposals have been made based on a number of factors:
- The Polling District;
- Accessibility requirements, as per the Elections Act 2022;
- The number of electors and the number of postal voters, which are increasing annually;
- The availability of alternative Polling Places and Polling Stations within the Polling District or nearby.
Councillor Bryan Davies, Leader of Ceredigion County Council said: “Although this is a statutory requirement, we want to ensure that polling stations around the county are accessible and are fit for purpose to enable electors to vote in person. We want to hear your views as part of the consultation.”
Residents can have their say from 2 October until 10 November 2023.
