The public are urged to be vigilant over the next few hours following an amber weather warning for strong winds as Storm Francis hits parts of Wales.

The weather warning issued by the Met Office is valid from 14:00 until 22:00 on Tuesday, 25 August 2020.

Residents and visitors are asked to be vigilant, careful and stay away from coastal areas during the high tide periods. Care should be taken whilst travelling as the winds may result in fallen trees and debris being present on the highway. The public are also asked to be careful in relation to the potential damage to buildings and other structures, resulting in tiles and other debris falling in public areas.

The winds could also lead to potential power cuts and effect on other services.
