Harbour and marina developers and operators are invited to hear about the significant development potential arising from the opportunity to take on a lease to operate Aberaeron Harbour.

Famously known as one of the jewels in the crown of Ceredigion’s coastline, Aberaeron is a well-known and popular destination that is widely identified by its rows of painted Georgian houses surrounding the stone harbour. Significant opportunities exist to attract investment into Aberaeron, with a view of developing the harbour into a modern facility and high quality sailing destination on the west coast of Wales.

Developing and managing the potential of the harbour will require a strong collaborative approach. Ceredigion County Council is therefore holding a market engagement event to identify competent and experienced commercial partners, to shape the vision and the development requirements to realising a commercially viable proposition that benefits the economy of Ceredigion and the Mid Wales region. The proposition will be expected to stimulate and realise significant economic potential for the local and regional economies.

Developing the harbours of Ceredigion has been identified as a key opportunity to be explored, and forms part of the broader economic strategy of Ceredigion Council to build on the opportunities of the area’s assets and opportunities to boost economic growth. The Council is working closely with partners as part of Growing Mid Wales and with both Governments to ensure that viable propositions generating economic growth across the region can be supported.

This market engagement event is being held on 2pm, 27th January 2021 on “Zoom”.

For further information or to register your interest for the event, contact: Ymholiadau.Caffael@ceredigion.gov.uk or call 01545 570881.

PLEASE NOTE: this is intended as an engagement event with commercial operators, and not for members of the public. Further engagement events and consultations will be considered as the proposal matures over time.
