Pride in Place Impact Fund – The Aberystwyth Townscape Enhancement Scheme

Ceredigion County Council is delivering the Aberystwyth Townscape Enhancement Scheme as part of its ongoing commitment to regeneration. The scheme is funded through the UK Government’s Pride in Place Impact Fund which and aims to enhance the townscape and preserve the historic character of Aberystwyth’s Conservation Area.
The Pride in Place Impact Fund programme is a Great Britain-wide programme which aims to provide investment to restore pride in place, support community cohesion, and stimulate local economic activity through visible, short-term, community-led improvements.
The Aberystwyth Townscape Enhancement Scheme focuses on improving the condition and appearance of commercial properties within Aberystwyth town centre. Eligible commercial frontages include shops, retail units, cafés, restaurants, pubs, offices, and service providers such as hairdressers and estate agents. Through targeted capital improvements and maintenance, the scheme aims to protect heritage assets, refresh the streetscape and strengthen Aberystwyth’s unique identity as the strategic hub of Ceredigion.
The Pride in Place Impact Fund - The Streetscape Enhancement Scheme provides a 70% grant contribution.
Minimum Grant Support of £5,000 per property
Maximum Grant Support of £20,000 per property
- For external façade improvements to eligible commercial properties in Aberystwyth
- The building façade must be visible from the street
- Funding is limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis
- Applicants may apply once per property
This is an open call for applications in the town of Aberystwyth.
The deadline for submitting applications is 30 June 2026, all funded works must be completed by 31 January 2027.

Aberystwyth Townscape Enhancement Scheme Form
The Aberystwyth Townscape Scheme is a discretionary grant, subject to assessment for value for money and approval by Ceredigion County Council.
Applications are reviewed monthly by an assessment panel and must be fully completed before they are presented to the panel.
Applicants will be notified of the panel’s decision by email within 14 days of the assessment meeting.
