Businesses in Tregaron, Llandysul and Cardigan celebrated St David's Day this year by taking part in Cered: Menter Iaith Ceredigion’s Window Decorating competition.

Cered’s main aim was to create a buzz on St David's Day by bringing a sea of colour, creativity and visual Welshness to our town centres in Ceredigion. The windows were judged on their originality and their reflection of the festive spirit and the spirit of Welshness.

The competition was an effective way of engaging with businesses in our communities to promote the support Cered can provide to businesses such as the free translation contact line, Helo Blod.

Siriol Teifi, the competition organiser for Cered, said: "It was encouraging to see so many businesses across the towns taking part in the competition."

The winning businesses are:

  • Cardigan - Crafters Cwtch
  • Aberystwyth - Thatch
  • Llandysul - Teifi Law
  • Tregaron - Caron Stores

The winners received a Cered challenge shield to keep for a year. If you would like to see the windows decorated, visit Cered Menter Iaith Ceredigion's Facebook or Instagram page.
