New settlers in Ceredigion are now able to access a free information service in their language of choice, following the launch of the 220 Soft Platform at all Ceredigion libraries.

To access the system you will need to join a library. This is free of charge and you can join online https://libraries.ceredigion.gov.uk/client/en_GB/cer_en or just pop in to your local library.

Joining the platform will give access to information about life in the UK in many languages, in many areas, including job skills, culture, customs, religion, transport, health and the NHS.

There will also be access to a range of other free e-resources such as e-books, e-audio, e-magazines and e-newspapers.

Ceredigion County Council’s Equalities and Inclusion team have invested in this guide to help people who have newly moved to Wales to settle in their new home and to integrate into the local community.

It explains that numerous experiences may be different or new to people as they settle in the country and contains all the basic facts and information needed to help people adapt to life in Ceredigion.

Leader of the Council, Councillor Bryan Davies and Cabinet Member responsible for Policy and Performance and includes refugee resettlement, stated: “We will promote this service and assist those in need to access our libraries to make use of this excellent new resource. If anyone has any feedback on ways to improve the information on 220 Soft, please get in touch with our Equalities and Inclusion team by phone, 01545 570881 or email, clic@ceredigion.gov.uk. We want all newcomers to Ceredigion to feel welcomed and supported so that they can start their new life here with confidence.”
