Ceredigion's new waste collection service will be starting soon. The new service will include a new collection service for nappies and other hygiene waste.

The new service will offer new opportunities to recycle as well as a change to collecting ‘black bag’ waste every three weeks. In response to residents’ concerns on the storage of disposable nappies and incontinence products, the council will continue to collect this waste fortnightly. As this collection will be separate to other waste collections, Ceredigion residents need to apply to receive the service to allow collections to be carried out efficiently.

Councillor Dafydd Edwards, the Cabinet member with responsibility for Highways and Environmental Services said, “The start of the new waste collection service is just around the corner. This new way of collecting nappies and incontinence waste will be the first step of the new service. Residents who use these products will need to apply for a collection and we urge them to do so now so that we can properly plan and finalise details of the service.”

Details of what materials can be collected, and who will be eligible for the service are available on the council’s website.
