In the middle of all the Owain Glyndwr Day celebrations at Ffair Elen in Llandysul on Saturday 16 September, Theatr Fach Llandysul performed for the very first time.

Theatr Fach Llandysul is a drama club for young children aged 7-11 who meet every Friday afternoon after school in Y Ffynnon. The drama club is run by Cered: Menter Iaith Ceredigion and Plethu which is a community organization to promote the arts through the medium of Welsh in Llandysul and the main aim of the club is to create an opportunity for children in the area to use their Welsh outside of school.

The subject of the children's performance was the early life of Elen who was the mother of Owain Glyndŵr. The highlight of the performance was a song about Elen composed especially for the occasion by the singer and composer, Lleuwen Steffan. This song was written following a brainstorming session between her and the children of the club.

Siriol Teifi, Development Officer for Cered: Menter Iaith Ceredigion and one of the leaders of Theatr Fach Llandysul, expressed her enthusiasm: "Our young and talented actors brought Elen's story to life in a fascinating way."

The success of Theatr Fach Llandysul's first performance underlines the continuing power of storytelling through the arts, connecting Llandysul's past and present.
