As the summer draws to a close here’s an opportunity for you to take a glimpse of Theatr Felinfach’s programme for the next few months. Although the days will shorten, culture and imagination will continue.

To start the feast of performances, there will be an evening of revisiting some of Theatr Felinfach’s Welsh Christmas Panto classics in a cabaret evening on 15 September with ‘Mae’r Nadolig yn Nesáu.’ An evening not to be missed reminiscing through songs and tales from the past and there are limited number of tickets available so be quick!

Kicking off October will be a one-man drama ‘Carwyn’ on 10 October presented by Bale and Thomas in association with Torch Theatre, Theatr Felinfach and RCT Theatres. An English language performance based on the life of Carwyn James a man whose career comprised teaching, broadcasting, coaching and even espionage.

On 21 October there will be two different performances to enjoy. In the day, there will be an opportunity to experience a unique performance by Theatr Felinfach’s performing school ‘Porth y Gwir’, a site-specific show based on the themes of global warming and the environment starting from Theatr Felinfach and then to Longwood Community Woodland near Llangybi. In the evening Theatr Bara Caws will return with a performance of ‘Draenen Ddu’, Angharad Tomos’ translation of ‘Blackthorn’ by Charley Miles. There’s also an opportunity to watch ‘Porth y Gwir’ on 22 October.

In November, there will be an opportunity to watch ‘Annie Cwrt Mawr’ on 7 November by the company Mewn Cymeriad. A one woman play based on the inspiring Peace builder Annie Jane Hughes Griffiths. 11 November will bring an evening of lively music with the folk band ‘Ar Log’ and the inimitable Dewi Pws. Bringing November to a close will be an imaginative performance for children ‘Swyn’ with Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru based on Krystal S. Lowe’s book ‘Whimsy’ with performances on 27 and 28 November.

What better way to start the festivities than by watching ‘Theatr Felinfach’s Welsh Christmas Panto’? The annual show will run from Saturday 09 December and then from 11 to 16 December. Join the Dyffryn Aeron crew as they celebrate the National Health Service turning 75 years old.
