Funding has been secured that will help vulnerable households in Ceredigion prepare for winter.
With the winter months approaching and the fuel bills rising, Ceredigion County Council and Citizens Advice Ceredigion successfully obtained funding under the Warm Homes Fund from Affordable Warmth.
A launch will be held on Monday,12 November at the Village Hall in Llwyncelyn, from 12:30pm onwards. This will be an opportunity for residents, who may be struggling to afford to heat their homes, to find out what support is available through this scheme.
At the event, there will be representation from Citizens Advice Ceredigion, Porth y Gymuned, Age Cymru, British Red Cross and Nest. The organisations will be available to provide information on what is available locally and nationally for residents within Ceredigion.
The Warm Homes Assistance Fund will span over a three year period with the aim of assisting over 600 vulnerable households to ensure everyone can enjoy the comfort of a safe, dry and warm home.
Councillor Dafydd Edwards, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Highways and Environmental Services together with Housing said, “Once again, Ceredigion’s Housing Service have been successful in securing funding for preventing fuel poverty. Thanks are given to Gaynor, Alwen and the Team for their tireless work in securing this support. Over 600 Ceredigion residents could benefit from this fund. The launch event is a chance for people to see what options are available.”
