A new website providing a one-stop-shop source of information on supporting wellbeing was launched in Ceredigion and nationally on 26 July in the Royal Welsh Show. Dewis Cymru is an online resource that has a directory hosting a range of opportunities, events and services in the community.

Ceredigion County Council Cabinet member responsible for Customer Contact, Councillor Ray Quant MBE said, “Nurturing the wellbeing of residents is a priority for the Council and by launching Dewis Cymru, Ceredigion residents now have an invaluable resource that they can use to support their wellbeing.

Any resource that can support wellbeing can be uploaded onto the directory. For example, a friendship group may hold a regular coffee morning, a community group might organise hiking or rambling trips in their local area, or a pub may hold a weekly open mic night. People can also upload a one-off event. I encourage any Ceredigion resident who wants to improve their quality of life to visit the Dewis Cymru website and see what they can find.”

Ceredigion County Council have adopted Dewis Cymru as their online directory of choice to help residents discover the opportunities in their community that can support their well-being. The Council has been facilitating the launch of Dewis Cymru in Ceredigion and supporting groups, charities and businesses to upload their information onto the website. Dewis Cymru will be an important resource as it will allow the Council to list its own services on the website.
