Ceredigion will be celebrating Adult Learners’ Week which is the UK’s largest annual learning festival, with over 10,000 adults in Wales participate in activities to note the week every year.

This year, the Ceredigion Adult and Community Learning Partnership, supported by the Learning and Work Institute, are holding two Adult Learners’ events, which will be held between 10am to 4pm:
• 6 June - ‘Y Man a’r Lle’ on Coleg Ceredigion’s Cardigan campus
• 20 June - The Bandstand, Aberystwyth.

The aim of this campaign, taking place in June, is to raise awareness of the value of adult learning, celebrate the achievements of learners and providers, and inspire more people to discover how learning can positively change their lives. This is achieved by working with a host of local providers delivering free taster events to prompt adults into returning to learning.

Councillor Catin Miles, Cabinet Member for Learning Services and Lifelong Learning said, “Learning throughout your life can help further your career, increase confidence and gain news skills. We are fortunate in Ceredigion to have a range of successful Adult Learner providers that offer learning on a variety of topics from Digital Photography to Chinese Culture, from Welsh Language to Welding. Come along to the events being held to celebrate Adult Learners’ Week 2018. You can get advice, ask questions, or have a hands-on session on a subject that you’re interested in finding out more about.”

Dysgu Bro, Ceredigion Training, Coleg Ceredigion, Lifelong Learning and Welsh for Adults Aberystwyth University, Adult Learning Wales, University of Wales Trinity Saint David will provide hands-on half-hour sessions in both events.
