Ceredigion County Council staff achievements were celebrated in a Council meeting on 21 June 2018.

The event sought to recognise the achievements of Council staff in the last year. Many achievements were recognised ranging from national awards to qualifications achieved by individual members of staff.

Leader Ceredigion County Council, Councillor Ellen ap Gwynn said, “The Council’s staff is its greatest asset. Despite the strenuous financial challenges the Council has faced over the last few years, our staff’s loyalty has ensured that we continue to serve our communities effectively. I’m very grateful for their dedication.”

The Leader, Councillor Ellen ap Gwynn and the Chairman, Councillor Hag Harris congratulated the following members of staff for their recent achievements:

Ceredigion Tourism Service

Awarded five blue flags as well as four Green Coast awards and 13 Seaside Awards. Cliff Bates received the award on behalf of the Ceredigion Tourism Service.

Ceredigion Museum

Awarded the Creative and Cultural Skills Award for ‘Museums and Heritage’. Carrie Canham received the award on behalf of Ceredigion Museum.

Welsh Learners

All 125 members of staff who have taken part in learning Welsh during 2017/18 were recognised.

Qualifications

The following were congratulated on receiving new qualifications which supports their professional development in the Council:

Joanne Hudson, Sian Williams and Tracy Morgan, Graduate Certificate in Consolidation of Social Work Practice (Porth Agored); Nicola Howard, Post Graduate Certificate in Managing Practice Quality in Social Care; Matthew Gray, Prince2 Foundation/ Practitioner; Lynwen Watkins, Level 3 Certificate for Essential Skills Practitioners - Digital Literacy; Nicola Parry, Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration; Sue Walker, Level 3 Generic GP Referral qualified; Rebecca Beechey, NVQ Level 2 in Clerical & Administration; Llion Bevan, Advanced Certificate in Public Relations of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations; Rhian Dafydd and Ffion Lewis-Hughes, Level 3 Apprenticeship in IT Users and Level 3 Diploma in IT User Skills and Sarah Evans and Melinda Williams, Level 2 Foundation Apprenticeship in IT and Communication Technology and Level 2 Diploma in IT User Skills.
