Armed Forces and Veterans Helpline
Calls to the helpline number 01970 633733 will be handled by Ceredigion County Council frontline Customer Services staff.
Councillor Paul Hinge is Ceredigion County Council's Armed Forces Champion. He said: "The launch of this help line is a significant step forward in the Council's commitment to the Covenant it signed earlier this year. It will provide a dedicated line that Armed Forces personnel and their dependents, veterans and veterans' carers can use to get signposted to the services they may require."
He added: "The reduction in the numbers of the Regular Armed Forces and the drive to significantly increase the Reserve Forces' numbers, will bring challenges to the civilian public services. The demand upon services such as health, housing, Jobcentres as well as the services provided by the County Council could significantly increase and we must be prepared to offer a pathway to help.
I would like to thank all those who sit on Ceredigion's Armed Forces Community Covenant Strategic Board for their support and input which has been first class and to Ceredigion County Council officers for their work in getting this dedicated line and service up and running."
