A strategy considering the economic future of Ceredigion over the next fifteen years has now been published. Detailed engagement and consultation with young people, businesses and residents has taken place, resulting in the development of a new Economic Strategy for the county.
Four priority areas have been identified where action will be taken to make a difference. These relate to:
- People – inspiring people, developing skills, health and wellbeing
- Place – promoting Ceredigion as a place to live, work and visit
- Enterprise – assisting businesses to start up and grow
- Connectivity – connecting businesses and communities
The strategy represents a framework for action covering the period to 2035. Detailed implementation plans will be developed for some of the actions, whilst others already form part of the work being delivered by Ceredigion County Council and other stakeholders. As it is a framework, there is flexibility to respond to new and emerging opportunities and challenges, but the overall direction and themes for intervention are set out.
This strategy provides an exciting opportunity to build on Ceredigion’s solid foundations and support an ambitious thriving economy for the future.
