A number of documents are available for inspection to assist in understanding the effects of the proposals.
This shows parking restrictions across the County, as they would be if the proposed order is made in full with no alterations to it. Changes from existing restrictions are highlighted in pink, and labelled with a number. These numbers correspond with the Location Number in the ‘Key to Locations’ document below. It should be noted that this map, although identical in content to those included in the draft Traffic Regulation Order, has no legal standing, and reference should be made to the relevant schedule(s) to the draft traffic regulation order below.
Key to Locations
This lists each proposed change to parking restrictions, with Location Numbers, and a description of each proposed change.. Also included is a ‘Map Reference’, which is further explained in the section Map References - Schedule to the draft Traffic Regulation Order below .
Map References - Schedule to the draft Traffic Regulation Order
As with the existing TROs, the Ceredigion County Council (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Unloading) Order 2018 has a map based schedule.
The county of Ceredigion has been mapped in the following fashion. First, there is a single Overview map, covering the entire County. This show the county divided into a number of rectangles via a grid system, based on the Ordnance Survey national grid system. Each grid rectangle is given a reference in the form of ‘CE’ and two numbers (for example, CE36 covers the Aberystwyth area). The Overview map shows the grid system imposed on Ceredigion, and details the grid square reference for each of the grid rectangles. There is still insufficient detail shown on these ‘CE Maps’ to illustrate parking restrictions, so each grid rectangle is further subdivided into smaller rectangles, which are displayed and labelled in a similar way. Each of these ‘Sub Maps’ are referred to by the CE map grid rectangle in which it is located, and an additional reference made up of a letter and two numbers (For example, CE36 U12 shows streets in Comins Coch, and CE17 R15 shows a section of Furnace). This allows users to find a particular map quickly. The interactive map above also shows the CE and Sub Map references.
Sub Maps are generated only where parking restrictions already exist or are proposed. This means that if a particular CE Map covers an area without any parking restrictions, there will be no Sub Maps within that area.
The Key to Locations document also lists a map reference for each change, although it should be noted that some changes cover more than one map – additional maps may need to be viewed to see the full extent of a particular change.
These maps are made available for download here. The Overview map is available on its own, and the CE and Sub Maps are grouped by CE Map Reference. Individual Sub Maps are also downloadable from the map page above.
Draft Traffic Regulation Order
The following link is to a copy of the draft Ceredigion County Council (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Unloading) Order 2018. It is the draft legal document that would make the parking restrictions enforceable.
Current Traffic Regulation Orders
A number of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) are currently in force in Ceredigion in relation to parking restrictions will be revoked by the Ceredigion County Council (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Unloading) Order 2018, and copies of these are available for inspection.
