The Welsh Government currently plans to reduce the 30mph national speed limit on street lit/residential streets to 20mph in 2023, and intends to pass the necessary legislation in advance of this.
In the meantime, the Council has taken the view that aside from grant-funded schemes and other exceptional circumstances, no other changes will be made to existing speed limits and their arrangement on County roads until after the Welsh Government has produced new guidance on setting local speed limits.
