To mark this year’s Remembrance Sunday, wreaths were laid on behalf of the Authority on Sunday, 08 November 2020.

The wreaths were laid by Councillor Gareth Davies, Ceredigion County Council’s Chairman, near the Aberystwyth Memorial and also on the Llanbadarn Fawr Memorial, which is part of his own ward.

Councillor Gareth Davies said: “The arrangements for Remembrance Sunday were different this year due to the coronavirus restrictions and the firebreak period. However, in the midst of all this, we still remember the sacrifices made by past generations and we want to pay tribute to those who lost their lives. It was therefore a privilege to lay these wreaths on behalf of the Authority as a mark of our respect and remembrance.”

Ceredigion County Council’s buildings have also been lit red at night and flags flown at full-mast during the week which led to Remembrance Sunday, and will remain so until Wednesday, 11 Novemeber 2020, to mark Armistice Day.
