As most legal restrictions on social contact and mask wearing are being lifted in England today, we’d like to remind both our residents and visitors that here in Ceredigion we all need to follow the Wales Coronavirus restrictions – which includes wearing a face covering and keeping a social distance inside public spaces.

On our website we have a series of downloadable materials that Ceredigion businesses, such as shops and hospitality, can display to remind everyone of these rules. These can be found at www.ceredigion.gov.uk/business/covid-19-supporting-ceredigions-economy.

Recent easing of restrictions across the UK may cause confusion to some, especially with the differences in restrictions between Wales and England. As the pandemic is not over and the virus continues to spread across our county and our country, it’s just as important to keep following the current restrictions, now as it was before, to keep Ceredigion safe.

Guidance from Welsh Government states that vistors coming to Ceredigion or anywhere in Wales from elsewhere in the UK should carry out a lateral flow test, which are free, before they travel to Wales. An additional measure is to take further tests during their stay. Rapid lateral flow tests are only for people who do not have coronavirus symptoms. If you have COVID-19 symptoms you need to self-isolate and book a PCR test from https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test. Order rapid lateral flow home test kits on GOV.UK. You can order one home testing kit (7 tests) at a time. You can also collect testing kits in person, find your nearest collection point and opening times from the NHS website, https://maps.test-and-trace.nhs.uk/#

Let’s all play our part to minimise opportunities for the virus to be transmitted and keep cases low to reduce further harm
