Ysgol Penweddig is judged to have made ‘sufficient progress’ in addressing the recommendations made after an inspection held in January 2017. As a result, the school has been removed from the list of schools requiring Estyn review.

Mark Rees, Chair of Governors at Ysgol Penweddig added, “I would like to thank all staff at Ysgol Penweddig for their continuing support in our efforts to improve teaching standards at the school. I am very pleased that our efforts have been recognised by Estyn.”

No further monitoring will be carried out in relation to the inspection given the progress already made.

Councillor Catrin Miles is Ceredigion County Council’s Cabinet member responsible for Learning Services. She said: “This welcome news shows that the hard work of students and staff is improving standards at Ysgol Penweddig. I’m sure that identifying the progress made will help the school to strengthen even further.”
