On 4 July, five primary schools took part in running ‘Ras yr Iaith’. Children from Ysgol Llanilar, Ysgol Plascrug, Ysgol Llwyn yr Eos, Ysgol Padarn Sant and Ysgol Gymraeg put on their running shoes and joined Rhodri Francis, Development Officer for Cered to run the stretch of the race at Aberystwyth.

Rhodri Francis, Development Officer for Cered, said, “Congratulations to all the schools who ran Ras yr Iaith this year. It was fantastic to see so many taking part.”

Ras yr Iaith (the Language Race) aims to raise the profile and confidence of the Welsh language, promote physical health and strengthen communities. This year, Ras yr Iaith was held over three days between 4 and 6 July. The race began in Wrexham, travelling down through Wales and finished in Caerphilly.
