A Procurement Strategy for 2018-2022 will have a strong focus on supporting and strengthening the local economy whilst delivering benefits to the people of Ceredigion and its communities.

The Strategy is built upon the five key priority areas of Supporting the Local Economy, Maintaining Strong and Effective Governance, to Improve Commodity and Contract Management, to Strengthen Processes and Governance and to Ensure Staff are Sufficiently Skilled & Resourced. Ceredigion County Council’s new Procurement Strategy was approved by its Cabinet on 19 June 2018.

The Cabinet Member responsible for Finance and Procurement Services, Councillor Gareth Lloyd said, “Not only does the Council need to make sure it uses its limited resources as effectively as possible, but it also needs to make sure that its procurement practices supports the local economy. The new Procurement Strategy for 2018-2022 does exactly that; I’m delighted that the Cabinet approved it.”

The Procurement Strategy 2018-2022 has been developed to be closely aligned with the Council’s Corporate Strategy and the aims of the Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015. The new strategy was developed during the final months of its predecessor which spanned 2014-2018.
