New members are needed to join a forum that will advise on public access across Ceredigion.

The Ceredigion Local Access Forum (LAF) has reached the end of its latest three-year term and arrangements are being made to appoint new members for 2022-2025.

The LAF is responsible for advising the Council, Natural Resources Wales and other bodies on matters relating to the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 (the CROW Act). This involves public rights of way and the right of access to open country and registered common land, including horse riding, cycling, off-road driving and access on foot.

The LAF will work around an annual work programme and four full forum meeting are usually held in a year, in addition to extra sub-committees.

Councillor Rhodri Evans, Cabinet Member for the Economy and Regeneration, said: “Ceredigion County Council is currently looking for new members to join the Local Access Forum for the next three years. If you’re someone willing to play a part in all aspects of the LAF’s work and could help advise on the improvement of public access to land for open-air recreation and enjoyment of the area, then you could make a valuable contribution to the forum’s work.”

If you are an individual interested in exploring the great outdoors in Ceredigion, are dedicated to improving public access and willing to commit to the Local Access Forum, please visit our website for more information: Ceredigion Local Access Forum

Interested applicants can apply to be considered for membership until 04 January 2022.
