Ceredigion County Council is asking residents in Ceredigion to look out for the household enquiry forms in the post and to make sure that they respond as soon as possible.

You need to be on the electoral register to vote in elections and referendums.

Eifion Evans, Electoral Registration Officer at Ceredigion said: “We’ve got over 34,600 addresses in Ceredigion to check and make sure we have the right details on the electoral register. If no response is received, the Electoral Registration Officers are required to send a further two reminders out in the post and visit addresses to check whether there have been any changes to the household – all of which costs money. We’re thankful to residents who check the form and respond immediately - we don’t want you to lose your entitlement to vote.”

The aim of the form is to make sure that the electoral register is up to date and to identify any residents who are not registered so that they can be encouraged to do so.

Eifion Evans continues, “If you’re not currently registered, your name will not appear on the form. You will need to complete the form and send it back to us to start the registering process.”

People who have moved address recently are particularly encouraged to keep an eye out for the form and check the details.
