The GCSE examination results published today (23 August) by the WJEC indicate that very high standards are being maintained in the schools of Ceredigion.

98.5% of entries for WJEC examinations were graded A* to G, with 23.6% of the entries achieving A* and A grades and 71.6% grades A* to C.

Councillor Catrin Miles, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Learning Services said, “Once again, we are very pleased with our pupils’ achievements in their GCSE examinations. In a period of significant and substantial change, our sincere thanks are extended to parents, carers, governors and staff for their encouragement and support to our pupils. We wish our young people all the best in their chosen pathways.”

Compared with the Welsh average, 5% more of Ceredigion entries achieved A*-A grades and 10% more of entries achieved A*-C.
