As Sue Darnbrook retires from her role as a Corporate Director at Ceredigion County Council after almost 11 years, Councillors share their thanks.

Councillor Ellen ap Gwynn, Leader of Ceredigion County Council said, “It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with Sue throughout her time at the Council. She has put everything into the role of Director of Social Services and then in a wider role as Corporate Director. She has been progressive and willing to take on all that has come across her for the benefit of Ceredigion. It was not easy to lead on the changes and challenges faced by new legislation and constant funding cuts but Sue did it with dignity.

Thank you very much, Sue - our appreciation is great. Enjoy your retirement and the time now to enjoy with family and friends.”

Councillor Catherine Hughes has worked with Sue through her portfolio as a Cabinet Member. She is also Chair of the Cylch Caron Stakeholder Board - a project that was very close to Sue's heart. She said, “Sue's contribution and guidance has been enormous - she has done her utmost for the benefit of the residents of Ceredigion whatever their age. She must be remembered and thanked for her work in leading on Cylch Caron, which has been difficult and challenging but moving forward step by step. We wish her well on her retirement.”
