A consultation will be held on the future development options for Theatr Felinfach. The consultation will offer two options on developing the Theatr.
The consultation includes an option to improve the current building and its resources; and another option which is a possible relocation with a new Theatre build co-located on the proposed site for the Dyffryn Aeron area school. This option to relocate the Theatr would only take place if a separate decision is approved to establish a new area school in the Aeron Valley.
The Cabinet member responsible for Culture, Catherine Hughes said, “Theatr Felinfach has long been at the centre of theatre and culture in Ceredigion. We want to protect and improve its valuable work by developing the Theatr further. To do this, we need to hear from our communities on the preferred way to do this.”
The main aim of the work is to improve the Theatr’s resources and its potential as a powerhouse to energise the cultural economy.
The consultation will establish the preferred option to develop the Theatr, and will start on 4 of February 2019.
The Cabinet decision to approve a consultation supports the council’s corporate priority of Investing in People's Future.
