At its meeting on 17 March 2020, the Cabinet approved a plan setting out Ceredigion's equality objectives for 2020-24.

A Fair and Equal Ceredigion 2020-24 sets out the steps to be taken by the Council over the next four years to eliminate discrimination, promote equality of opportunity, and foster good relations in order to meet its duty under the Equality Act 2010.

The Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Equality Duty require the Council to review and publish equality objectives and a strategic equality plan every four years to ensure that equality is taken into account in policy making and service delivery.

Councillor Ellen ap Gwynn, the Cabinet Member with responsibility for Policy and Performance, said: "I welcome this plan which sets out how we will strive to ensure that equality remains at the heart of everything we do. The plan lays the foundation for a better future in the long term, and its delivery will help protect the rights of individuals in the county and develop equality of opportunity for all."

The plan will be published on the council's public website by 31/3/2020.
