Residents in Ceredigion are urged to check and update their information that appears on the electoral register.

Ceredigion County Council is asking residents in Ceredigion to look out for the household enquiry forms in the post and to make sure that they respond as soon as possible.

Eifion Evans, Electoral Registration Officer at Ceredigion said: “We’ve got over 34,600 addresses in Ceredigion to check and make sure we have the right details on the electoral register. We thank you for checking the form when it arrives and respond as soon as you can.”

The aim of the form is to make sure that the electoral register is up to date and to identify any residents who are not registered so that they can be encouraged to do so.

Eifion Evans continues, “If you’re not currently registered, your name will not appear on the form. You will need to complete the form and send it back to us to start the registering process.”

People who have moved address recently are particularly encouraged to keep an eye out for the form and check the details.

Rhydian Thomas, Head of the Electoral Commission in Wales said: “It’s really important that everyone who is entitled to vote is able to do so; checking the form that will arrive through the post is one of the easiest ways to find out if you are already registered. There’s lots of helpful information about registering to vote on our website www.yourvotematters.co.uk.”

Any residents who have any questions can contact the Registration Team on 01545 572 032 or email ier@ceredigion.gov.uk.
