Ceredigion Museum is looking for your seaside holiday photographs to take part in a new exhibition celebrating the nation’s relationship with the seaside.

Do you like to be beside the seaside? Do you like to stroll along the prom? Surf the waves, ride a donkey, eat ice-cream and negotiate a deck chair? Were you a bathing beauty or a knobbly knees winner?

With the summer holidays around the corner, Ceredigion museum will be welcoming visitors through its doors to a 2018 Year of the Sea exhibition celebrating the story of the county’s seaside heritage, with objects selected from the museum collection.

Before the advent of affordable package holidays abroad, the promise of sun and sand meant a trip to the seaside. The Museum hopes that the exhibition will generate nostalgia and remind visitors of their own memories of the seaside holiday.

Andrea DeRome, Collections Access Officer at Ceredigion Museum said, “We need your photographs of trips to the seaside to form an integral part of the exhibition. We look forward to hearing from you.”

If you feel that you’d like to take part, contact Andrea DeRome, andread@ceredigion.gov.uk, or phone the museum on 01970 633088.

Making a Splash opens on Saturday, 14 July and runs until Saturday, 13 October.
